Auntie, most of the Iranian/Persian youth are not really “down” with fundamentalist Islam. They want a secular society. So as far as being “hedonistic” – they were probably just doing what they want to do in their country but their government does not allow them.

That’s different from somebody who claims “Islam is the best, all other religions suck, and non-Muslims are hethens” and then goes out and does all kinds of haram activities. Saudi Arabian men are famous for this.

Persians/Iranians are very different.

Many ugly American guys claim Russian women are the most beautiful. What about Russian men – are they hot too? I’ve known some and don’t recall them being very handsome.
